John Zaccarelli

John Zaccarelli, was born about 1880 in BC. His parents both came from Pieve di Cadore, Veneto, Italy. He opened a store in Dawson City around 1901 according to the Yukon Territory and Alaska Directory and Gazetteer. He sold everything from books to bananas including a complete stock of stationary, fruits, domestic and imported cigars, smokers' articles, confectionary, etc. Zaccarelli also published postcards of the city and area.
Early in 1906, Zacarelli published a heavily illustrated souvenir
brochure titled "Zaccarelli's Pictorial Souvenir Book of the Golden
Northland." Its 192 black and white photographic reproductions provided
a comprehensive look at Dawson in the first decade of the twentieth century.
The book and postcards Zacarelli produced were of high quality and are
prized by collectors.
