Overview
Membership and terms of reference for the Vancouver Athletic Commission are prescribed in the Vancouver Charter, s. 338and Vancouver Athletic Commission By-law No. 10031 .
Membership
The Commission consists of five members appointed annually by the City Council for one-year terms, each of whom must not be a member of Council and not be an employee of the City.

Duties
The Commission controls and supervises professional boxing, martial arts and wrestling contests or exhibitions in the City of Vancouver. It prescribes the rules of such contests and exhibitions and, if necessary, may prohibit them.
Reappointment
Commission members are eligible for reappointment. There is no limit on the number of terms served.
Meetings
The Commission meets at the call of the Chair.
