Participation tops 17,000

Every May, thousands of Vancouverites take to the streets to Keep Vancouver Spectacular

They’re part of the City’s annual city-wide cleanup campaign where block captains and volunteer teams pick up litter in neighbourhoods throughout our city. This year more than 17,000 volunteers in 110 groups came together to fill thousands of bags of litter.

Our clean streets and shorelines are among the reasons why Vancouver is one of the most livable cities in the world. Each year we ask for help to Keep Vancouver Spectacular.

As we start looking ahead to 2012 consider signing up to be a block captain and organize a neighbourhood cleanup. Or be a volunteer by joining a neighbourhood cleanup team.

It’s your chance to give back to your community, share in the spirit of working together for a great cause and feel pride in your neighbourhood and our city!
