UBC Line Rapid Transit Study
Study Overview
The UBC Line Rapid Transit Study is a multi-year technical study that will identify and evaluate rapid transit alternatives for the Broadway corridor from Commercial Drive to UBC.
The study is being led by TransLink and jointly sponsored and funded by TransLink and the Province. The study is currently in Phase 2 (dates tentative):
- Phase 1 – Shortlist Identification (Summer 2009 – Spring 2010)
- Phase 2 – Option Development and Evaluation (Spring 2010 – Mid 2012)
- Phase 3 – Detailed Design Development (timing to be determined)
The City of Vancouver, Metro Vancouver, UBC, and the University Endowment Lands are directly involved as partner agencies. Stakeholder consultation is taking place throughout the study, with broader public consultation opportunities during Phase 2.
To date, two rounds of consultation have been held as part of Phase 2, and one more is planned for early 2012.

TransLink's UBC Line Rapid Transit Study will not focus on land uses in the Broadway Corridor. For information on land use planning currently ongoing in the Broadway Corridor, please see the Central Broadway Planning Program website.
