Permits, Fees & Rates

Paying your water bill

Your water bill can be paid in a number of ways. The Utility Billing website has detailed billing information on it's Paying Your Utilities page.

Water rates

Flat rate

Properties with flat rate water charges are billed on the property tax notice (see Property Tax General Information for more information).

Metered properties

As of 2009, all metered properties are billed quarterly (every three months). More information is available on the Utility Billings metered rates page.

The City of Vancouver has partnered with epost™, Canada Post's free online mail delivery service. Through epost™ , property owners have the ability to receive their property tax and utility bills via the Internet. You can also pay, print and store your bills through this secure and convenient service which is accessible from any computer with an Internet connection. Hydrant Use Permits

Hydrant use permits are issued by the Waterworks to customers requiring the use of a hydrant for a specific purpose for a set amount of time. For example, hydrants may be needed to provide construction water, water use for film crews, etc. The procedures to apply for a permit are available on the Hydrant Permits page.
