Expo 86 - Hosting the World

A look back at Expo 86; a World's Fair held in Vancouver from May 2 until October 13, 1986. The theme was "Transportation and Communication: World in Motion - World in Touch." The fair, held on Northeast False Creek, coincided with Vancouver's centennial and attracted 22,111,577 visitors. Hosting the event fundamentally changed Vancouver, both physically and in the eyes of the world.
