to teach and lead recreational programs. We are looking for qualified,
experienced instructors with good people skills. If you would like

Volunteers Make a Difference!
At False Creek CC our volunteers gain experience, leadership skills,
complete CAPP hours, meet others and have fun. Volunteers range
in age from youth to older adults. We have opportunities for you
to give back to the community by helping with our special events,
workshops, committees and regular programs. Our summer daycamp programs
our just around the corner which give youth a great opportunity
to experience a day in the life of a daycamp leader. Phone the centre

Sea Kayak/Canoe Instructors
False Creek Community Centre is currently seeking dynamic, versatile and energetic individuals to deliver high quality introductory sea kayak lessons to the general public in the heart of Vancouver.
Duties:
You will be responsible for teaching adults Introduction to Canoe/Kayak lessons, solo and assisted capsize recovery sessions at the UBC outdoor pool and basic maneuvering skills and water and boating safety in the Alder Bay just behind the community centre. Flexibility is required as lessons are in the evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants will have certification in either: RCABC – Lake Water Canoeing Instructor combined with extensive personal kayaking experience or Paddle Canada Introduction to Kayaking Instructor, Current Emergency First Aid, Current CPR, Strong communications skills, Experience in teaching/leadership.
The successful applicant will also be a personable, patient and effective teacher.
Remuneration: $16 - $20/hr
