Stanley Park Seawall Repairs Begin - Expect Lane Sharing and Occasional Short DelaysJuly 17, 2008 (No. 22) - Seawall repairs and drainage improvements will start tomorrow, Tuesday, July 22nd, and will extend until mid-November. Work will take place on weekdays only. One lane will be open at all times except for short closures to allow movement of large equipment. The contractor will also have flag persons to divert the public around work areas and escort equipment to and from work areas. The section of Seawall affected by the work is from Second Beach to Lions Gate Bridge and includes stonework, concrete coping, drainage improvements and asphalting. Seawall users are asked to use caution and respect signs and directions from flag persons. This work represents the final phase of Seawall repairs following the devastating storm that struck the park in December 2006. -30- For more information contact Carol DeFina, Communications Coordinator, at 604-257-8440.
