Stanley Park Legacy Interpretive Panels To Be Unveiled at Chilco Plaza Today, September 24thSeptember 24, 2008 (No. 30) - Park Board Chair Korina Houghton will be joined by Mayor Sam Sullivan for the unveiling of several Legacy Interpretive Panels at the Chilco Plaza near Lost Lagoon. Mr. Johnny Fong, one of seven project donors from the Community Care & Advancement Association will also participate in the unveiling of the panels. Thirty-six different panels have been permanently installed around the park at key locations to tell some of the important stories of the park's history and ecology. Legacy Interpretive Panels Unveiling Celebration This is the first time that the Park Board has developed such a comprehensive, interpretive program for placement throughout the park. The panels are part of a joint project with the Vancouver Museum in honour of the park's 120th birthday. In addition to the panels in the park, an exhibition entitled "The Unnatural History of Stanley Park" is opening to the public tomorrow, September 25th, at the Vancouver Museum.
