What Activities Keep You Fit and Active?
Swimming and weight training.
What Motivated You to Become Active?
As any husband and father of two,
who is 65 knows, life has its ups and downs.
I for one know this first-hand. At 60, and
newly retired, my wife and I took stock
of me; husband, father, and provider of
the family. I was tired, overweight, out
of shape, and in need of some positive changes.
So off to Britannia I went to swim and get
in shape. Little did I know I'd meet new
friends; younger and older, male and female,
staff and patrons.
How Do You Motivate Yourself to Stay Fit?
After a year of staying the course, and with the encouragement
of my new friends to go upstairs to the gym, I went upstairs and met
Jan who set me up with Les to get started. Well start I did and the
weight just fell off.
What Are the Benefits of Being Fit?
Now with weight training, swimming, and socializing I am in
the best shape of my life!
Who Are Your Future Fitness Goals?
I'm happy what I have achieved and now the goal is to
maintain this level of fitness. I have also dedicated myself to helping
others get active and fit. Fitness and the health benefits that accompany
an active lifestyle is the key to enjoying a long, active and rewarding
life!
Hobbies/Interests?
I am also a volunteer on two committees (Programs and Fitness)
and I am a director of the Britannia Society Board.
