Ephemeral Works

John Hemsworth, Peter von TiesenhausenDavide Pan, T'Uy'Tanat Cease WyssShirley WiebeTania Willard

Ephemeral projects were installed in various outdoor locations of Stanley Park during the summer and fall of 2008. Ephemeral art is by its very nature impermanent. Natural and organic materials are used to create works that will have a minimal impact on the environment and that will, over time, decay and return to the earth. This type of artwork is dynamic and ever-changing as elements like sun, wind, and rain, or the activities of animals and insects, will alter the look and aspect of the work. Eventually, photographs are the only permanent record that remains of an ephemeral project.
