Many of the City's parks are popular sites for civic events and celebrations. These events contribute to the cultural richness and milieu of the City. Such activities include multi-cultural festivals, sporting tournaments, walks and runs and various community celebrations. Most of the City's special events are sponsored by non-profit societies who organize and conduct these activities. The Park Board reviews applications for events that fall within the Board's mission of providing a wide variety of leisure opportunities to enhance the well-being of individuals and communities. If you are interested in operating private/commercial recreation activities (i.e. bootcamps, yoga, dog obedience, etc.) on Vancouver's public parks or beaches, see below for details. Organizing Special Events in ParksIt is the goal for both the Board and staff to work with event organizers to ensure a successful event. Special event staff are available to answer any questions regarding the application, evaluation and approval process. How to Apply for a Special Event Download an Application
