Remembrance Day 2008
November
7, 2008 - Take part in a Remembrance Day service being held in a number of parks in Vancouver.
The largest Remembrance Day ceremony is
held at Victory
Square
on Tuesday, November 11th at 10:30am. Prior
to the service, the Vancouver Bach Youth
Choir will perform.
Stanley
Park's Japanese Monument, 10:40am,
hosted by the Japanese Canadian War Memorial
Committee. The monument is located northwest
of the Vancouver Aquarium and south of
Lumbermen's Arch.
Ceremony and march at Memorial
South Park. March to cenotaph begins
at 10:15am at John Oliver Elementary School
(marchers should gather at 10am). Ceremony
begins at 10:30am. Hosted by the South
Vancouver Veterans Association. Event

Grandview Legion Branch #179 is hosting
a ceremony at the Grandview
Park Cenotaph beginning at 10:45am. A
march to the cenotaph begins at 10:35am from
Napier Street and Commercial Drive.
Free parking: From November
4th to 11th, vehicles displaying veteran
licence plates will be exempted from parking
meter fees in Park Board-operated parking
lots and parkades as well as from on-street
parking meter fees and will be able to park
for free at EasyPark parking lots throughout
