New Neighbourhood Park for Downtown SouthApril 23, 2002 (No. 28) - The Vancouver Park Board, at it's regularly scheduled meeting last night, unanimously approved a $1,008,000 tender to construct Phase One of the new Downtown South Park to be located at Richards Street and Davie Street:
Construction of the new neighbourhood park, which will provide additional green space for the growing population in Downtown South, will commence in the latter part of May with completion scheduled for this Fall. The park will have perimeter street trees, a central lawn, gardens, sidewalks and plazas, a water feature, seating, trellises and lighting. The second phase of the new park will proceed when the land assembly on the Seymour side is complete. The Park Board also unanimously endorsed the City's anti-graffiti
