David Lam Park (foot of Homer Street at Pacific Boulevard)
David
Lam Park is a 10 acre park of active and passive spaces located
between the False Creek waterfront and Pacific Boulevard and is bounded
by Davie Street and Homer Mews on the east and west. The construction
of the park is part of the overall development plan of the Concord
Pacific Group. The park was named for David Lam, an outstanding British
Columbian, who served for 6 years as BC's Lieutenant Governor. Phase
I of the park, comprised of 6 acres, was completed in 1995. It includes
a child play area, grass playing field, plaza and waterfront walkway.
Phase II, the construction of the salt water pump station, washrooms
and surrounding plaza at the corner of Pacific and Homer Mews, was
completed in 2000.
The next phase will see the last portion of the site, with horticultural
displays and additional walkways, added to the park at its westernmost
edge. This project will be completed in tandem with that of the adjacent
Concord Pacific residences. The total cost of the park development
is $6 million.
