FREE "Around the Park" Stanley Park Shuttle begins Friday - June 13, 2003

June 13, 2003 (No. 34) - The Stanley Park Shuttle is back once again as a FREE, fun and convenient alternative to car travel throughout the park. From June 13th to September 28th, 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily, park visitors can board the shuttle at 14 convenient stops around the park. The Shuttle removes the headaches of planning an all day outing to the park. For instance, a family can park their car, visit the Children's Farmyard and ride the Stanley Park Miniature Railway, then they can take the Shuttle to Second Beach Pool for an afternoon swim. With so many leisure options in the park, the shuttle makes "a day at the park" easy to plan.

The Shuttle operates every 15 minutes, and stops at 14 of the most popular sites and facilities. It takes approximately 45 minutes for the entire trip around the park. The Shuttle is provided by the Vancouver Park Board as part of its effort to conserve the environment of one of the Lower Mainland's most beautiful and well-visited parks.

Special Note: Reduced Shuttle Stops during Georgia Street Entrance Improvements

Due to the ongoing construction work at the Georgia Street Entrance to Stanley Park, the "Lost Lagoon" Shuttle may not be in-place until mid-July. Also, the TransLink bus stops at the park entrance and exit are still under construction.

While this is the case, the best Shuttle stops to use when entering or exiting the park at Georgia Street are:

  • by public transit - Miniature Railway stop
  • on foot - Rowing Club stop
  • by car - Pipeline Road or Miniature Railway stop (park at Stanley Park Central Parking or Miniature Railway lot)

We apologize for any inconvenience during this transition period. The Georgia Street entrance project encompasses road safety improvements, public transit service to the core of Stanley Park and improved Causeway underpasses.
