Thornton Park Injunction Granted

August 15, 2003 (No. 47) - The Vancouver Park Board announced today that the BC Supreme Court has granted an injunction to remove campers from Thornton Park. The campers will be informed of this decision today and asked to leave by 12 Noon - Saturday - August 16, 2003.

The Board still hopes the remaining protestors will leave voluntarily so that we can return parks to the community. Parks should remain open and available to all residents and visitors as shared space, particularly in areas of the city where green space is limited.
