Park Board Elects New Chair, Vice ChairDecember 2, 2003 - Vancouver Park Board Commissioner Anita Romaniuk was elected as the organization's new Chair at last night's public Park Board meeting. Ms. Romaniuk succeeds Commissioner Heather Deal who steps down as Chair after serving one year. Anita Romaniuk, formerly Vice Chair, is a systems analyst with degrees in Science and Business Administration. She is currently Chair of the Park Board Finance Committee and serves as liaison for the Vancouver Public Library Board, Vancouver Planning Commission and Community Association Presidents. A long time community volunteer, she served on the Douglas Park Community Centre Association's Board for six years and is founder of Douglas Park's Arts Committee. Commissioner Loretta Woodcock was also elected as the new Vice Chair. Ms. Woodcock has worked for more than ten years on environmental issues at the national, provincial and local levels, and has served on the boards of many non profit bodies. She is the liaison representative for the Special Advisory Committee on Cultural Communities, Special Advisory Committee on Seniors and is a member of the Park Board's Finance and Planning & Environment Committees.
