February 23, 2004 (No. 2) - Together with our honoured guests (confirmed: Sophia Leung, MP, Deputy Mayor Anne Roberts, Anita Romaniuk, Chair Vancouver Park Board), the Millennium Sport Facility Society will celebrate the start of construction of the Millennium Sports Centre, with an Official Ground Breaking Ceremony.

Building to Be Our Best!

The construction of this 44,000 square foot sports and recreation centre, located centrally in Vancouver at Nat Bailey Stadium Park, will serve as a catalyst for the exciting, future sport and recreational facility developments in the area. The new centre will play host to administrative activities during the 2010 Olympic Games to support the Olympic Curling venue that is planned to be built right next door.

The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation maintains 200 parks and 40 major facilities throughout the City of Vancouver. The Park Board's mission is to provide, preserve and advocate for parks and recreation services to benefit people, communities and the environment.
