Stanley Park Seawall To Be Closed For Cliff Scaling(Third Beach to Lions Gate Bridge - Open Weekends and after 5pm)February 24, 2004 (No. 6) - The Stanley Park Seawall will be closed for annual cliff scaling weekdays from Monday, March 1st through Friday, March 12th between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. The closure affects the popular seawall just west of Third Beach to the Lions Gate Bridge. The closure gates will be re-opened after the day's work at 5 pm and be open completely on weekends to allow use of this most popular Vancouver recreational facility.Alternative routes for seawall users can be found on the Park Board Web site. Note: Following the annual scaling this area will be closed completely for widening and resurfacing to better serve the mixed uses of the seawall. It is projected that the work will be completed by late spring. Additional information on this closure will be available on the Park Board Web Site following the scaling work.
