Stanley Park Seawall To Be Closed For Improvements

Third Beach to Lions Gate Bridge

March 9, 2004 (No. 13) - The western facing portion of the Stanley Park Seawall will be completely closed for an extended period from Monday, March 15th through late spring. The closure effects the popular seawall from Third Beach to east of the Lions Gate Bridge. This extended closure, following the annual cliff scaling, will allow for widening and resurfacing of a 2.3 kilometer stretch to better serve the mixed uses of the seawall.

Alternative routes for seawall users can be found on the Park Board web site vancouverparks.ca. Detour maps will be available at the closure gates and at the Stanley Park Information Booth near the Georgia Street entrance to the park.
