(At Ceperley Playground near Second Beach)
June 10, 2005 (No. 49) - Mark June 18th on your upcoming weekend calendar and get to the Rain or Shine Festival in Stanley Park from 12 noon through 6 pm. The Vancouver Park will present a full day's activities highlighting the diverse programs and events available to residents through their park and recreation facilities.
Enjoy free music and performances, activities, demonstrations, nature tours, heron and rhododendron walks, refreshments, drumming, tennis, skateboarding and so much more! Activities are planned for all ages and abilities. Meet the Raining King and Queen and join the Umbrella Parade!
Much anticipated is the Taste of Stanley Park tent where chefs from the park's popular restaurants will create mini delectable entrees featured on this summer's menus for "bite priced" pocketbooks!
Bring your bathing suit and putters too as the beautiful Second Beach Pool will cut their admission to a loonie for children and a toonie for adults while putting on the smoothest green in Vancouver will be free. There will also be specially reduced prices of $5 for 9 holes play on the Stanley Park Pitch & Putt course too, including club rentals.
Be sure to enter the Rain or Shine Challenge by picking up an event punch card on site. You get a stamp for each activity you participate in. The more stamps you get the better your chances of winning fantastic prizes! Special bonus: by bringing a decorated umbrella, you automatically get 2 stamps!
