Public Invited to John Hendry Park Master Plan Public Workshop #2 - Revised

March 1, 2006 (No. 15) - The public is invited to join the Vancouver Park Board and the Grandview Community Association in shaping the future of John Hendry Park, Trout Lake Community Centre and Trout Lake Ice Rink. More than 100 people attended the first workshop on February 18th, which focused on identifying possible locations for the new community centre and ice rink. The three locations which received the most support were:

  1. the site of the existing community centre and rink;
  2. the area north of the existing community centre and rink; and
  3. the area located along Grandview Highway near Garden Drive.

The objective for the second workshop is to select the best location for the centre and ice rink. The public is encouraged to visit the display in the Trout Lake Community Centre lobby or click on "Planning" on the Park Board's Home Page and then "Projects" for more details about the proposed sites and to then share their ideas about the future of the park at the public workshop.
