Public Invited to Open House Stanley Park Forest Management PlanFebruary 16, 2009 (No. 7) - The Park Board is holding two public open houses to present information and provide an opportunity for the public to discuss and comment on the proposed Forest Management Plan for Stanley Park. The Management Plan is intended to provide an overview of various management practices required to realize the vision statement first published in the Stanley Park Restoration Plan in April 2007 - "That Stanley Park's forest be a resilient coastal forest with a diversity of native tree and other species and habitats that allows park visitors to experience nature in the city." Friday, Feb 20, 2009 Saturday, Feb 21, 2009 The plan was developed in coordination with the University of British Columbia and Stanley Park Ecology Society and includes various modules pertaining to Tree Hazard Mitigation, Wind Resilience, Insect and Disease Management, Culturally Modified Trees and Wildlife.
