Access to Stanley Park, some community centres and marina impacted Sunday due to marathon

April 30, 2009 (No. 9) - Vehicle access to Stanley Park will be restricted Sunday, May 3 between 6:30am and 10:30am due to the Vancouver International Marathon. During this time both Park Drive and Pipeline Road will be closed to traffic. The Stanley Park Causeway (Lions Gate Bridge/Georgia Street ) will remain open. The Stanley Park Seawall will remain open, though at times during the early morning portions near Coal Harbour will be congested with runners.

As well, road access to a number of community centres and other facilities may be impacted. This includes Coal Harbour, False Creek and Roundhouse Community Centres, Vancouver Aquatic Centre and Burrard Marina.

Park and community centre visitors are asked to plan ahead by visiting the Vancouver International Marathon website or the City of Vancouver Road Ahead website for details.
