Stanley Park Causeway closure
June 14, 5:30 am - 6:30 am
June 12, 2009 (No. 14)
- Vehicle access through the Stanley Park Causeway will be restricted on Sunday, June 14 between 5:30 am and 6:30 am to allow the Park Board to fell danger trees adjacent to the road. During this one-hour time period, the Causeway will be closed completely in both directions for safety reasons. Traffic will be stopped at 5:30 am for a short period and will then be diverted through the park for the remainder of the time.
Park Board arboriculture staff determined that this regular forestry management work is required as the trees have the potential to fall onto the Causeway or its sidewalks. In addition to the 40 dead trees being felled, 13 additional trees are being pruned.
