Media Invited: Official Opening
Kensington Community Centre's New Cardiac Wellness Facility

September 21, 2009 (No. 24). The media are invited to attend the opening of a new community-based cardiac wellness facility at Kensington Community Centre. The specialized circuit training room is the result of a unique partnership between the Park Board and the VGH Centre for Cardiovascular Health, known as the Happy Hearts Alliance. Significant funding to renovate and equip the circuit training room has been provided through the VGH and UBC Hospital Foundation.

The new circuit training room is the first is a series of partnership facilities being planned to provide cardiac rehabilitation and prevention services and programs out in communities around the city that are safe, affordable and offer a comfortable, familiar environment. Classes led by trained professional staff will be available in the new cardiac wellness facility at Kensington Community Centre.
