Special Events in Vancouver Parks

October 6 , 2009 (No. 26) - Vancouver Parks host a diverse range of cultural events and outdoor activities. Listed below are some upcoming special events facilitated by the Vancouver Park Board. The Stanley Park Halloween Ghost Train October 9 to November 1, daily from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm This year's theme is Legends of the Underworld. Tickets are available through TicketMaster and on site. Event info line is 604-257-8531, or go to www.vancouverparks.ca for more detailed information.

Eleventh Annual Turkey Trot Fun Run Monday October 12 at 8:30 am This False Creek Seawall 10 km run begins at Granville Island, loops over Burrard Bridge to the north side Sea Wall before turning at Science World to head back along the south side Sea Wall to Performance Works on Granville Island. Join in this annual Vancouver Thanksgiving tradition while helping to support those less fortunate. For more information visit www.turkeytrot.ca

Guided Nature Walk with a Naturalist in Hastings Park October 24 at 9:00 am The Hastings Park Conservancy hosts nature walks each month led by a naturalist. Meet at the northeast corner of the Sanctuary. Rain or shine. Parking free for participants. Please leave your dog at home. For information visit www.hastingspark.ca

The 39th Annual James Cunningham Memorial Seawall Race October 25 at 9:30 Stanley Park Seawall Race organized by the Lions Gate Road Runners beginning at Second Beach. Supports the BC Epilepsy Society and Kidsport BC. For more information visit www.seawall.sierrasystems.ca
