Vancouver Park Board & Vancouver School Board Open House Synthetic Turf Playing Field Initiative

November 4, 2009 (No. 59) - The Vancouver Park Board is holding its fifth Open House to gather public input regarding the location of two new lit synthetic fields. Short-listed sites include fields on Jericho, Memorial South, Rupert, Beaconsfield Parks and Prince of Wales Secondary School. The public will have an opportunity to learn more about the proposed lit synthetic turf fields and to make comments on any aspect of this initiative with Park Board staff.

The Vancouver Park Board is implementing a long-range plan to develop six new lit synthetic-turf sport fields in the city for amateur sport play. Four of these fields have either been built or are currently under construction.
