Swim, skate, golf and enjoy over the holiday season

December 16, 2009 (No. 67) - A full range of Vancouver Park Board's public recreational facilities will be open for family fun over the holidays. Community centres, swimming pools, fitness centres and skating rinks have posted special operating schedules.

Light displays and gardens are also open over the holidays: VanDusen Gardens Festival of Lights, Bloedel Floral Conservatory in Queen Elizabeth Park and the Bright Nights Holiday Train in Stanley Park all welcome visitors daily (except December 25). Also available for play are the Park Board's Pitch & Putt Golf Courses at Stanley Park and Rupert Park and full length courses at Fraserview, Langara and McCleery Courses (weather permitting).

The Park Board Administration Office at 2099 Beach Avenue will be closed beginning 12 noon Thursday, December 24 and will reopen on Monday, January 4 at 8:30 am.

Schedules are subject to change and weather can sometimes impact operating times. Call the facility directly or within Vancouver dial 3-1-1.
