Community centres, in partnership with community-based Associations offer a full range of recreation programs and services for children, including licensed childcare programs. 2,000 children attend pre-school and school-age programs across the city during the school year, which climbs to over 2,500 spaces weekly during school holidays. Associations may offer child-minding, kindercare or school-age childcare programs; 18 centres also host licensed pre-school programs for 3 and 4 year-olds. Swim or workout at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre while they mind your children; child-minding at 4 other centres allows parents/guardians to enjoy their rinks, pools, fitness or community centre programs. Supervised child-minding services are designed for children whose parents want to be active in programs on-site. Parents must remain at the centre.
