Field Allocation - RegulationsThe priority for field allocation requests is:
Youth sports receive first priority in the allocation of fields due to the neighbourhood focus of the players and the mobility limitations of children.
League PlayPrevious year's permit holders are given first priority to renew their field permit for the coming season. Field allocations are based on the number of Vancouver-based teams in the league. New applications for field allocations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. TournamentsTournaments are processed on a first-come first-served basis. Permit Fees and PaymentField permit fees are charged for all adult play. Applicable fees must be paid prior to the effective date of permit, and tournament fees must be paid one month prior to event date (cash, cheque, VISA or MasterCard). Cheques should be made payable to the Vancouver Park Board and forwarded to the attention of Recreation Services, Stanley District. "No Alcohol Regulation"The Park Board's field use permit states that "no alcoholic beverages are to be dispensed, sold or consumed on the park at any time." This is a zero-tolerance policy. Violation may result in permit privileges being revoked. ConcessionsGroups wishing to operate a food concession must obtain approval from both the Park Board and the Vancouver Health Department. Phone 604-736-2866. Organizers are responsible for the removal of all garbage from the concession (Park Board will provide extra garbage bins for a fee.) Field MarkingSports groups are responsible for the lining of playing fields. All groups using Park Board fields must use non-toxic Sportsfield Whiting (CaCO3) or sports lining paint. Insurance RequirementsThe City of Vancouver and the Vancouver Park Board require that all leagues or teams that use Park Board playing fields submit proof of public liability insurance in the amount of two million dollars minimum ($2,000,000) for each occurrence. The policy must name the City of Vancouver, the Vancouver Park Board and the Vancouver Police Board as additional insureds. Insurance can be obtained through any insurance agent.
