Definition:
Street intersections in most cases are self-evident. Exceptions are: for streets with dead ends an intersection point is established, and where a lane intersects a street is NOT considered an intersection (point). These intersection points (also referred to as nodes) exist in order to reference other things that occur at the intersection, i.e. traffic counts, traffic volume, accidents, etc.
