Definition:

DFPS Mains are all the high pressure (300 psi) water mains that comprise the City of Vancouver's Dedicated Fire Protection System. This water pipe network is separate from the regular network that moves water to the City's water customers. The DFPS network is dedicated solely to provide high volumes of water to fight major fires. The VanMap label for DFPS Mains displays "DFPS" as an indicator, the Main Diameter in millimeters, the Main Material, the Main Coating, and the Year the Main was installed. The City of Vancouver owns all of the DFPS network. For more information, go to Waterworks.
