Preschools serve children from 30 months (at least 3 years old by Dec. 31) to school entry. Some provide separate sessions for 3- and 4-year-olds, while others serve mixed age groups. Preschools are part-day programs (four hours maximum). Program schedules vary widely. Most preschools operate on the school-year, Sept. to June.
