Driver Instruction Vehicle

If you will be operating a motor vehicle equipped and used for the purpose of teaching others to drive motor vehicles, you will need to obtain vehicles for hire licence for a driver instruction vehicle. You will be required to complete and submit a Vehicles for Hire Application Form (137kb) with payment of the appropriate fee of $159.00 per vehicle.

Before we can issue you a vehicles for hire licence plate for your driver instruction vehicle, you must already have or apply for a Driver Training Office or Driver Training School licence. You will be required to complete and submit a Vehicles for Hire Application Form (137kb) with payment of the appropriate fee of $126 plus a non-refundable application fee of $50. If the Driver Training Office is located in a residence in the City of Vancouver, you will also be required to complete and submit a Vehicles for Hire Home-Based Licence Application Form (47kb).
