A series of walking tours explore the history and rich culture of the cemetery

Join us on a new series of walking tours of Mountain View Cemetery that will explore its rich history and culture.  Mountain View Cemetery opened in 1886 and had its first burial in 1887. Since then, Mountain View Cemetery has become the final resting place of almost 150,000 people.  Each of them with at least one interesting story…

Tours are lead by Lorraine Irving and John Atkin.

Cost: $10:00 pp. No reservations are necessary.
All tours depart from the Celebration Hall and Courtyard (enter off 39th Ave at Fraser).

Did you Know

Mountain View has been owned and operated by the City of Vancouver since 1887, and is made up of 106 acres of land with approximately 92,000 grave sites and 145,000 interred remains. It is Vancouver's only cemetery.
