The City of Vancouver will host a free civic celebration on April 6, 2011 at Jack Poole Plaza (site of the Olympic Cauldron) to celebrate Vancouver's 125th birthday.

Vancouver's desire to celebrate shone bright during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Now in 2011, Vancouverites have another opportunity to share their engagement, involvement and spirit for this great city as we mark Vancouver’s 125th anniversary and enjoy the designation of being a Cultural Capital of Canada in 2011.
A full year of festivities is planned: major civic celebrations, a wide range of community events and initiatives and dozens of artistic projects that underscore our city's innovative cultural community and honour Vancouver's diversity and First Nations heritage and culture.
