The fabulous Queen Elizabeth Theatre Salons are located on Hamilton Street in the centre of downtown Vancouver between the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and Vancouver Playhouse. Bright, modern and flexible, the Salons offer excellent space for meetings and receptions.
The 170 m² main Salon measures 27 m x 7 m. It can be used in its entirety for larger gatherings, or the space can be divided into two or three smaller rooms through sound-proof partitions. Each room enjoys natural lighting from the sweeping glass facade, has a sprung hardwood floor and is appointed with sleek contemporary furnishings.
Meeting layouts include capability for rounds, hollow square or theatre-style seating. The three sections have independent public address, coat closets and lighting control, including full black-out capability. Salon "A" has a motorized projection screen. There is a catering servery accessible by all three rooms. On-site parking is available in the reasonably-priced QET Parkade.
As the Salons are linked to the two theatres, events requiring auditorium-style seating can book the meeting rooms when available for break-out sessions, lunch/coffee breaks or social gatherings in conjunction with a theatre booking.

Daytime Rental: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (7.5 hours)
- All bookings are tentative until a formal license agreement has been executed and a deposit paid. The default set-up for the salon(s) includes lounge furniture.
- One hour for preparation time (7:00 - 8:00) and one hour for clean-up (4:30 - 5:30) are included. Additional time outside of these hours, if available, will be charged at the hourly rate, plus all staff costs.
- Guests may not be invited before 8:00 a.m.
- The rental fee for day use includes non-exclusive access to an event co-ordinator and the initial meeting-style set-up. Other services are chargeable
Evening Rental: 6:30 pm - Midnight (5.5 hours)
- All bookings are tentative until a formal license agreement has been executed and a deposit paid. The default set-up for the salon(s) includes lounge furniture.
- Evening use by Theatre Licensee associated with a performance the same evening in the Queen Elizabeth Theatre or Vancouver Playhouse is included in the theatre rent.
- One hour for preparation time (5:30 - 6:30) and one hour for clean-up (Midnight - 1:00 am) are included. Additional time outside of these hours, if available, will be charged at the hourly rate, plus all staff costs.
- Additional charges will be incurred for staff, services and additional time.
- Rent includes the non-exclusive use of an event coordinator. Additional charges will be made for staff and services.

Services and Equipment
Food and Beverage Services
There is a Catering Servery adjacent to Salon C which is accessible from all three Salons via the rear corridor. Salons A and B have a built in bar.
Food:
Food services are provided by outside caterers. For information on catering, please call Audience Services at 604.665.3025.
Beverage:
- All beverage services will be provided by VCT.
- Basic beverage service will include disposable cups.
- Premium beverage service will include glassware and will be charged on a per unit basis.
- Beverage services can be on a host or no-host basis (no-host liquor bar requires a minimum service cost equal to 50 drinks per bartender).
Staffing
- Day: (8:00 am to 4:30 pm)
Consultation with an event co-ordinator is included in the room rental rate. Additional staff services as required will be charged at $35.00 per hour.
- Evening use for a stand alone event: (6:30 to midnight)
The staff allocation will be determined in discussion with the Audience Services Manager or Assistant, based on the needs of the event. The minimum staff allocation will be one host or event co-ordinator included in the rent. Additional staff assigned will be charged at $35.00 per hour.
Equipment
Furnishings and equipment will be provided to the extent that VCT has the stock. Standard equipment includes:
- 180 - Chairs
- 7 - 5' Round Tables
- 7 - 5' Round tables convertible to 3'-6" Square Tables
- 17 - 2'-6" x 6' Rectangular Tables
Additional or alternate furnishings and equipment can be rented. Usage charges apply for furnishings and equipment.

Terms & Conditions
Payment
A booking will be considered as confirmed when a license agreement has been executed by both parties and a valid non-refundable deposit has been received.
All fees quoted are subject to HST.
Deposits will be equal to 25% of the full rental amount and can be paid in cash or by cheque. If paid by cheque, the license agreement is not valid until the cheque has cleared the bank and is in VCT's account.
The balance of the rent and any other amounts owing to VCT under the license agreement are due five full business days before the event.
Any additional charges incurred during or after the event are due when invoiced.
In the event of cancellation the deposit is forfeit and any accumulated charges become immediately due.
For events (e.g. parties) where there is deemed to be potential risk of damage to the premises, a security deposit may be required in the amount of $2,000.
Insurance
A certificate of Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance, for a minimum of $2,000,000 coverage per event, and with the City of Vancouver as the additional insured, is mandatory.
Shipping & Storage
The salons have no available storage space. Material and equipment cannot be received & stored in advance of an event.
Decorating
Decorating is acceptable when supervised by VCT staff. Nails, screws and tape for attaching decorations are not acceptable on finished surfaces. Time to decorate and to remove decorations should be within the rental period.
Parking
The host or client may be offered up to 5 reserved parking stalls in the QET garage at the going rate.
