City-owned Site: 1237 Howe Street

1237 Howe Street is one of twelve sites being developed under a Memorandum of Understanding ( PDF, 272KB) between the City and the Province (BC Housing), a partnership that would see BC Housing fund the preconstruction costs for the development of 1100 – 1200 social and supportive housing units on 12 City-owned sites. According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreement between the Province and the City of Vancouver, funding for the City-owned sites will include half of the net proceeds from the redevelopment of Little Mountain. The funding for this project was announced by the Province on May 25, 2010. The non-profit society involved is the McLaren Housing Society of BC (PDF, 54KB).
