City-owned Site: 215 - 225 West 2nd Avenue

215 - 225 West 2nd Avenue is one of twelve sites being developed under a Memorandum of Understanding ( PDF, 272KB) between the City and the Province (BC Housing), a partnership that would see BC Housing fund the preconstruction costs for the development of 1100 – 1200 social and supportive housing units on 12 City-owned sites. According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreement between the Province and the City of Vancouver, funding for the City-owned sites will include half of the net proceeds from the redevelopment of Little Mountain. The funding for this project was approved by the Province on May 25, 2010. The non-profit society that will manage the project upon completion is the Katherine Sanford Housing Society and RainCity Housing Society (PDF, 175KB).
