When the necessity of collecting refuse in a busy downtown area meets the unfavourable noise associated with it, Property Use Inspections Division strives to maintain a balanced arrangement.
For the purpose of regulation, noise from refuse collection is limited to any noise that emanate from a motor vehicle while the vehicle is being used to collect refuse by means of a mechanical or hydraulic lift from a bulk refuse container in or adjacent to a residential premise.
The City is divided into 2 areas for the hours of refuse collection: Downtown Area and Outside Downtown Area. For further information, view the waste hauler info sheet

Downtown area (view map below)
Monday to Friday: 6:00am to 12 midnight
Saturday, Sunday or Holiday: 10:00am to 12 midnight
Outside Downtown area
Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 8:00pm
Saturday, Sunday or Holiday: 10:00am to 8:00pm
