Hastings-Sunrise Public Realm Meetings

Recent initiatives include completing an inventory of what is in the public realm along Hastings, hosting design workshops to better utilize the public space, and fundraising to pay for improvements. The Subcommittee also successfully lobbied for the Neighbourhood Centres Program to start work in the Hastings North area in Fall 2007. The program will address public realm issues and deliver new housing types.

The Public Realm Subcommittee has organized two neighbourhood walking tours guided by John Atkin. The North of Hastings Walking tour was held in summer 2007 and the South of Hastings Walking tour was held in summer 2008. View the North of Hastings Walking Tour Brochure (PDF, 2.69MB).
