Lee Building
129131 East Pender Street
Another structure built (in 1907) as headquarters for a surname
association, the Lee Building was gutted by fire in 1972. Architects
Henriquez and Todd preserved the original façade as a free-standing
screen and built a new structure behind it. Just a few years before
this successful private preservation of a heritage building, the
Province had designated Chinatown a historic district.
