Q. How quickly might the Norquay Village area change?

A. When large area rezonings have taken place in the past, redevelopment has happened very slowly. As a result, throughout Vancouver, it is common to find single family houses remaining on lots that have been zoned for duplexes. Our most recent experience at Kingsway and Knight Street reveals that less than 2% of the rezoned properties are redeveloping each year. While market forces ultimately determine the pace of change, we expect that fewer than half of the properties rezoned in through the proposed Norquay Village Plan would be redeveloped over the next 20 years.
