General Information

Vancouver is home to a variety of gaming facilities, including: one casino, one horse racing track (Hastings Park), one commercial bingo hall, and over 400 lottery outlets.

Historically, the City has played a significant role in developing policy, defining land use and regulatory matters related to the gambling industry. Social Planning, in conjunction with other City Departments (Legal Services, Planning, Police) has provided (and continues to provide) City Council with information, reports, and policy analysis related to gaming issues.
