The Pilot Project for Community Focused Web Content

In 2001 the City of Vancouver expanded their website to include more community focused content. The Community Web Pages were unveiled!

Community Pages Go City Wide

On February 20, 2001 Council approved the expansion of the Community Web Page project. On March 1, 2001 all 'community profile' pages were rolled out for all 23 communities within the City of Vancouver. The structure, navigation, and content helps residents find information and resources specific to their community.

Our Goal

To consolidate information about City services and resources available in each community.
To share and bring together information about City of Vancouver projects, construction, and initiatives happening in each community.
To make information on City services, resources, and projects more accessible to residents.
To help create a sense of community spirit no matter which neighbourhood you live in, whether it means supporting a local events or festival, being informed about what the City is working on in a neighbourhood, and knowing what plans are in store for the future in your area.
To let residents know what events are happening in their neighbourhood, and that no matter where you live every community has it's own spirit and identity making it a unique and special place to live.

Our First Pilot Communities:

Our first pilot communities were Dunbar, Kensington-Cedar Cottage, Killarney, Sunset, and Victoria-Fraserview. And in March 2001 all 23 communities profiles pages were completed and unveiled.
