Creative City Conversation 2008
Open dialogue, the exchange of ideas, and opportunities for discovering new synergies through networking are critical to the foundation of our growing creative community.
The Creative City Conversation 2008 took place on Monday, May 12 at the Vancouver Playhouse. Participants were part of an event filled with thought-provoking ideas and discussion around the role of creativity and art in building community.
The event's keynote speaker was Allison Arieff, writer of the column “By Design” for the New York Times, editor at large for Sunset magazine, and the former senior content lead for Ideo, and former editor in chief of architecture and design magazine Dwell. Ms. Arieff examined the organic ways in which people and ideas come together and spoke about how arts and culture can be a vehicle to create more cohesive and healthy communities.
Ms. Arieff’s insightful observations set the stage for a discussion and final feedback session on four important Creative City initiatives.
