November 8, 2005Candidate Profiles document proves popularTo help voters prepare for the November 19 municipal election, the City of Vancouver has distributed a document called Candidate Profiles. The 32-page document is proving popular with voters. Candidate Profiles contains a personal statement of up to 150 words, a recent head-and-shoulders photograph, and contact information for each of the 96 candidates who chose to submit information. All candidate information was provided by the candidates themselves. More than 50,000 copies of the document have been distributed in the past week. Detailed information on the voting process can be found in another City document called Vancouver Votes: Guide to the General Local Election. This 16-page booklet (in red & black) was circulated to all Vancouver households. Copies of both Candidate Profiles and Vancouver Votes can be found at all Vancouver libraries, community centres and other civic facilities such as Queen Elizabeth, Playhouse and Orpheum theatres, City Hall and the Election Office at 450 West Broadway. Both documents are also available online at vancouver.ca/vote For more information: Media enquiries: |
