Celebrating and Supporting Culture in Vancouver
The City of Vancouver celebrates and supports its creative communities with the following programs and initiatives this fall. 

Mayor’s Arts Awards: September 29 
Recognizing Vancouver artists and community members who make a significant contribution to the creative life of our city. 
Watch for the full list of award recipients on our website and in the Georgia Straight this fall.

Cultural Grants Deadline: November 18
The City provides support to local arts organizations through assistance for established organizations and new or existing groups, and rental grants for groups interested in performing in the Vancouver Civic Theatres. 
Information sessions will be held on September 26 and 28 to provide details on projects and theatre rental grants. Locations will be announced on our website.

Incubating Talent – Artist Live/Work Studio Program
Four studios of varying sizes are available to professional artists for three-year residencies to support their work. 
Artists of all disciplines who demonstrate artistic excellence and financial need are encouraged to apply by October 7. 
Studios will be available starting February 1, 2012. Studio open houses will be held on Saturday, September 24 from 12 noon to 4 pm and Tuesday, September 27 from 4 to 7 pm. Visit the website for details.
